Carlton House Terrace, London, SW1Y 5AH
Ribera del Duero is excited to bring its Tim Atkin MW Ribera del Duero Selection 2024 to London for the fifth consecutive year on Wednesday, 20th November.
The highly anticipated event will take place at Carlton House Terrace, showcasing the very best wines from the Ribera del Duero D.O. region, expertly curated by Tim Atkin MW. Since its launch in 2019, the Top 100 Tasting has become a must-attend for sommeliers, agents, wine specialists, and independent retailers alike throughout the UK. This year’s event is set to be the most impressive yet.
Tim Atkin MW will lead a masterclass exploring the history, climate, terroir, and commercial opportunities within Ribera del Duero, followed by a tasting of his Top 100 selection, including his picks for Ribera del Duero on a Budget and Unrepresented Producers to Watch.
The Briefing, 2pm
A room will be dedicated for a briefing hosted by Pablo Baquera Peironcely and Tim Atkin MW for trade and media. The talk is set to be a succinct overview on relevant topics, covering core discussions such as the latest vintages and trends of the region, all the way to Tim’s overall thoughts on his recent visit and the progress the region has made.
About the Tasting, 12:00 – 17:00
For the fifth year in a row, D.O. Ribera del Duero offers UK media and key trade members the chance to explore a remarkable selection of wines from one of the world’s most vibrant wine regions.
Each September, Tim Atkin MW spends two weeks in Ribera del Duero, meeting winemakers and sampling near 600 wines—from robust, well-balanced reds rich in old-world character, spice, dark fruit, and smoky notes, to younger, more fruit-forward wines that highlight the region's freshness and diversity. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover what makes these wines and the region itself so extraordinary. As in previous years, the tasting will also showcase Ribera del Duero's best budget-friendly wines, featuring delicious, high-quality selections retailing in Spain for under €16.
Consumer session, 18:00 – 20:30
In response to the continued interest with consumers, we will be running a dedicated consumer session in the evening, offering a more immersive experience for wine enthusiasts.
Introducing for 2024:
Wine Makers and Producers will be given the opportunity to present their wines at the tasting. As space is limited, priority will be given to the producers from the unrepresented section.
