In July 2007, the Regulatory Council for the D.O. Ribera del Duero renewed its collaboration agreement with the Atapuerca Foundation, signed for the first time in March 2004. The agreement envisages an annual contribution of 30,000 euros from the Regulatory Council, for a minimum period of 5 years, to support the work of the Foundation, whose main object is to facilitate the continuity of and offer wide-ranging organisational and economic support to the research programme under way in the Sierra de Atapuerca (Burgos), so contributing to the campaign to have the archaeological site, where discoveries of enormous importance have been made in the last few years, receive the scientific and cultural recognition it deserves as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

RIBERA DEL DUERO JOINS FORCES WITH VALLADOLID INTERNATIONAL CINEMA WEEK
The D.O. Ribera del Duero collaborates with Valladolid International Cinema Week in diverse activities related to wine and the cinema. The two institutions have a mutual promotion agreement, so that cinema buffs can be brought to Ribera del Duero wines, and those who consume wines from the Designation of Origin are brought closer to the arthouse films shown by the cinema festival. Ribera del Duero wine is served at all the institutional events held as part of Valladolid International Cinema Week, including the opening and closing acts.
As a consequence of its decided interest in bringing young people and the culture of wine together, the Regulatory Council sponsors the Sonorama Ribera festival in Aranda de Duero, which has been a benchmark among the pop-rock festivals of our country for more than 10 years.
Every August, as thousands of young people arrive at Sonorama Ribera, the Regulatory Council and the cultural association Art de Troya offer free assisted tastings of Ribera wines to those attending the festival, and they distribute information about the D.O. and its wineries among those interested.
The Ages of Man Foundation
The objectives of The Ages of Man Foundation are the conservation, promotion, development, protection and improvement of its Cultural Heritage, which every year is made manifest in an intense programme of cultural activities, training and research. Its ecclesiastical nature, given that its patrons are the bishops of Castilla y León, coexists with its civil format as it is registered with the Ministry of Culture, under the auspices of its Protectorate. In 2004, the Regulatory Council agreed to sponsor the musical cycles "Intimate Music" and "Musical Summer on the Duero", included in its cultural programme. The concerts take place in the peerless setting of the Monastery of Santa María de Valbuena, the permanent address of the Foundation, between the localities of Valbuena de Duero and Pesquera (Valladolid).
