The D.O. Ribera del Duero announces its membership in the Wine Origins Alliance, a global network of 33 wine regions from 11 countries, including Bordeaux, Napa Valley, and Chianti Classico. Founded in 2005, this alliance is dedicated to protecting and promoting wine appellations, while educating consumers on the importance of geographical origin. Through this initiative, Ribera del Duero strengthens its commitment to authenticity and quality in wines with controlled designation of origin, helping preserve the terroir and identity of wines in an increasingly globalized world. This partnership also enhances Ribera del Duero’s involvement in international initiatives supporting the wine industry.
Membership in the Wine Origins Alliance also enables Ribera del Duero to further advocate for the wine sector's interests internationally, drawing on its experience with the Association of Wines with Origin of Castilla y León and the Spanish Conference of Wine Regulatory Councils (CECRV). With over 300 wineries and a reputation for excellence, the region continues to innovate to ensure a prosperous and sustainable future for Spanish wines.
